Costa dei Trulli Festival: Gigi D’Alessio and Annalisa in Monopoli

The concerts will be held on July 26th and 27th 2021 in the former fuel depot area in via Arenazza

Councillor for Tourism, Cristian Iaia and Councillor for Culture, Rosanna Perricci, communicate that the Municipal Council of Monopoli has approved the notice of address for the organization of the concerts of the “Costa dei Trulli” Festival.

Two important events complete the 2021 season program presented last week: the concerts of Gigi D’Alessio (July 26th) and Annalisa (July 27th). For a fee, both will be held in the former fuel depot area in via Arenazza. The cost and methods of payment will be announced in the coming weeks.

“We are ready for the tourist season, the Administration wants to support the economic and social recovery and for this reason it has decided to focus on two high-level artists. The city of Monopoli will host the Gigi D’Alessio concert on July 26th and the Annalisa concert on July 27th,” say Councillors Iaia and Perricci.

“We are very happy with the choices made, because we are talking about two artists of great notoriety, known and appreciated by a wide audience. Gigi D’Alessio is a name that speaks for himself, with a career of many years behind him, international concerts, Television Presenter, highly successful musician, we are talking about a showman of great calibre. Annalisa, on the other hand, is a young singer who, although has been on the music scene for less time, has now carved out a space for herself because of her originality and freshness, with a mainly younger audience,’ says Councillor Iaia.

The concerts, for which an access ticket is required, will take place in the area of the former barracks, an area for which an ambitious redevelopment and refunctionalization project is underway, that will host other important cultural promotion events.

The choice of location therefore meets two requirements. The first is to guarantee compliance with Covid safety regulations, being able to take advantage of large spaces that allow distancing and management of incoming and outgoing flows.

The second is to revive a new versatile space in the city centre, logistically positioned in a strategic way.

The important participatory process underway, which will lead to the definition of the destination of the former barracks area, this summer will therefore be able to count on the presence not only of two cultural events but also of these two concerts by two leading Italian musicians.

“The Administration has strongly decided to reinvest in tourism promotion activities, to do its part for the economic and social restart, says Councillor Iaia, but it wants to do so in full compliance with all the rules for the containment of contagion and for this reason the area of the former barracks gives us all the guarantees because it is a well-defined space that will allow us to regulate influxes and avoid gatherings,” conclude the Councillors.
