IN MY NAME above the show, the international exhibition of Urban Art scheduled from 19 July to 3 November at the Ex Deposito Carburanti in Monopoli, arrives at the BIT in Milan on 4 February with an unprecedented preview: on the occasion of the press conference held by the Municipality of Monopoli at the BIT, the artistic director and artist of the exhibition, Made514, performed a site-specific action open to the public.

Organised by Unlike Unconventional Events in collaboration with the Municipality of Monopoli, under the banner of an unconventional experience, IN MY NAME offers visitors the chance to see for the first time ever the collective exhibition of a large group of Urban Artists.

The focus of IN MY NAME is to take stock of the history of Urban Art and its current evolution about half a century after its birth in the United States, thanks to the artists who are the germinal branches of this discipline and who have marked its development in Europe, maintaining its originality of intent and its never conventional imprint, always faithful to itself and constantly open to experimentation.

From 19 July to 3 November IN MY NAME occupies the Ex Deposito Carburanti (former fuel depot) in Monopoli, adjacent to the railway station and also within walking distance of the city centre. The exhibition combines great post-industrial charm with a highly significant variety and number of works, constructing a free space of experience in which the visitor can pass by crossing visions, colours, techniques, messages.

The works in the exhibition testify to the contemporary production of Urban Artists, ranging from wall works made of acrylic or spray that dialogue with sound and video-animations, vehicle skeletons, installations built with disparate materials, sculptures that reproduce iconic objects of the contemporary, a highly significant crater on the wall, a room that is an infinite kaleidoscope,  sculptures hanging from the top of industrial tents, augmented reality that can be experienced with an oculus, and much more.

During the 6 months of the IN MY NAME exhibition, there will be live performances in which the invited artists create works, paint walls, and dialogue with the people present for a confrontation without filters or barriers. The calendar of side events also includes talks dedicated to public architecture, transformation and the evolution of the concept of drawing and design. The urban world is also proposed through skate installations to be experienced together amidst music and sound.

In addition, visitors can take advantage of a shop where they can find limited editions and multiple products signed by the artists, at a competitive price, as well as a range of IN MY NAME branded merchandising.

IN MY NAME above the show is organized under the patronage of the University of Padua; Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Padua; Academy of Fine Arts of Venice; ADI Association for Industrial Design of Puglia and Basilicata; Municipality of Monopoli.
